RC1 looks really good running from USB drive. Will this release update to final when the time comes or will a fresh install be required?

After using Conky Manager to preveny Conky from starting, a menu item is still present in 'Favourites' to toggle Conky on/off, but does nothing.

I think this is going to cause confusion!

If this is not a FAQ I don't know what is... we should probably post the response in the announcement too.

RCs will update to Final (at least that what we did in the past).

If this will be updated I will install it asap, a lot of potential users will dither [like me] if its not prominent.

I have to say that after trying literally dozens of distros MX-16 was the best I had tried, along with Solus, but MX-16 had it by a nose. As a mainly Windows user MX and Solus are the easiest for those moving across, as it happens I once had a dual install of XP and Mepis so this was the first place I looked for a new OS, after all these years its still the best for me.

Thanks for the prompt response.

I don't see it as a serious confusion issue, myself. But we could add the word "selected" to the comment so it read.

I never thought I'd feel this way, but I'm hoping a MX-17 final release is not too soon. It'll take me 10+ hours to download RC1 on dial-up & I was having video related crashes with beta 3. So now I'm hoping I'll have enough time to post data on the crashes if they continue in RC1 --- and somebody will have time to resolve them before final. :snail:

Don't know what happened, but this is the glichiest i've tested so far.
This time, just as last, installed everything on btrfs (on SSD) and everything was fine then.
Not so this time.
Everything was going bananas (too much to point out).
Have disabled compton and done upgrade, quite a few reboots.
Things seem to be a bit more stable now (takes a deep breath).

Update: have re-installed as ext4 and so far so good! :)
