Well that's a start. Did you try rebooting the phone after that?

rebooted phone.
thunar closed and iphone connect open - rescan on iphone connect no trust dialog came up. clicked mount and got.
Error when getting information for file '/media/mx-idevice/80a967637f72a8bb21a14c9d521d6a1b28eea0ec/iPhone': No such file or directory.
Now the iphone connect window content is gone and a portion of firefox shows on it.
The icon in the panel for mount/unmount showed it unmounted.

I removed the usb for the phone, opened thunar and attached the phone again.

I now have an icon for the iphone in thunar and it shows to be mounted but no files. Iphone connect has only mount available and nothing happens when I click it. No option to unmount using it.

I tried the fallback 4.10 kernel and same. This beta works very well otherwise. I guess my puter is growing old. Thanks for a great system, I'll just keep using 16.
could you post "inxi -F" for this hardware? I'm surprised you have no sound.

Perhaps check alsamxier (now in Xfce Settings Manager) and see if the channels are muted

or if its defaulting to an hdmi or some other port.
SOLVED! The alsa settings were off. Thanks again, this beta is absolutely terrific!

Of course, if we saw the complete command you used, the problem would be pretty obvious. :frown:

Both they had the same result.
zsync -i /media/Programs/MX-17.b1_x64.iso $(wget -nv --spider https://sourceforge.net/projects/mx-lin ... c/download 2>&1 | grep -Eo https.*iso.zsync | sed 's/https/http/')

zsync -i /media/Programs/MX-17.b1_x64.iso http://iso.mxrepo.com/Testing/MX-17/MX- ... .iso.zsync

I'm using the last zsync command you posted to download the ISO, here's what it should look like:

Code: Select all

zsync -i MX-17.b1_x64.iso http://iso.mxrepo.com/Testing/MX-17/MX-17.b2_x64.iso.zsync
#################### 100.0% 775.4 kBps DONE

reading seed file MX-17.b1_x64.iso: *********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************Read MX-17.b1_x64.iso. Target 81.2% complete.
downloading from http://iso.mxrepo.com/Testing/MX-17/MX-17.b2_x64.iso:
##################-- 93.2% 636.2 kBps 2:16 ETA
and when is done you'll see:

Code: Select all

verifying download...checksum matches OK
used 1005977600 local, fetched 233401481
And the file should be in the folder you ran the command from.

If zsync doesn't work for you it might be a network problem, maybe a proxy or router between your computer and server... but I'm not sure.

Solved, there was no problem in the first place just I didn't use zsync for a lot time, the iso was made in my home folder.

Vbox responds fast, but after time when I open an app like boot repair or synaptic it stucks but this time there in not a lot cpu usage as it was with beta 1.

Edit. The cpu of the laptop do not stuck but it stuck again the vbox cpu.

Edit. Only if I use both processors of my system with the same memory settings it goes better but again with difficulties with MX 16.1 I don't have any problem.
