Re: mx-package-manager (new MX app)
D_O asked " do any apps show as installed or upgradeable in the test repo area?
Yep, apps installed are greyed, upgradeable have a small adjacent icon, and an upgrade worked.

Just a quick update, the package is now the repos, you can install it with "apt-get install mx-package-manager" or use Synaptic.

Hello. Sorry for the bad English. Nice app. I have one question. This package is optional, or it is will be available with standard updates?Adrian wrote:Just a quick update, the package is now the repos, you can install it with "apt-get install mx-package-manager" or use Synaptic.

Ok. Thanks for the answerdolphin_oracle wrote:it will eventually come with the standard updates. there is work left to do.
Re: mx-package-manager (new MX app)
I think it will be pushed as a upgrade/replacement for mx-packageinstaller once is declared good-to-go.

Re: mx-package-manager (new MX app)
solving a mystery, the papirus-gtk-icon-theme dummy package in the test repo doesn't have any dependencies, so while it shows as an upgrade, it doesn't actually install papirus-icon-theme.asqwerth wrote:I had previously installed the new papirus-icon-theme (with "gtk" dropped from the name) from Test Repo.
Opened the new MX Package Manager and accessed the Test Repo. Used search term "papirus":- papirus-icon-theme was found but not marked as being already installed. When I ticked the box next to it, the "Install" and not "Uninstall" button was ungreyed.
I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that in stable repo, a dummy transitional package for the old papirus-gtk-theme [whatever it's called] was still installed/in existence.
here's the result of upgrading via that dummy package. I icon themes are all missing and it defaults back to another theme (tango I believe).

Re: mx-package-manager (new MX app)
Works for me, cheers.
Well done on this consolidation. Switching repos, uninstalling, nice....
As an aside while browsing this, VLC now includes the teletext plugin as standard (I realised recently), and I noticed an upgradable package in the MX Test Repo (I can activate subs from recorded DTV programs from my box thing now without pinning).

Re: mx-package-manager (new MX app)
Thanks, D_O for solving the issue.
I was puzzled but it only happened on one of my MX16 VMs. I couldn't reproduce it on my original real metal MX15 installation, possibly because papirus was manually installed on it subsequently.
The new MX Package Manager works fine on my MX15 installation, BTW.
