I ran a 5yo intel ssd with linux for three years, and I had the correct params in /etc/fstab. SMART? was showing <80% with guaranteed failure this year. I popped windows back on it and used the intel tools(not available in linux) to fix and it now back at 100% for 6mths with no imminent failures. :)
Something to consider is the swapfile. I personally use enough RAM to not need a Swap space. May be a consideration choosing a new laptop.
Because the SSD chips wear out from use, and the swap partition is used much more than the other partitions, that part of your drive will technically wear out before the rest does. LOL, so, depending on the architecture and quality of your drive, you might run out of swap space after so many years...
I run mx-18 and windows on MSATAs just fine. No historical data yet, other than screaming for 6mths.
