If you messed up your first post, why not edit it, instead of adding a confusing second one?

And since we don't have your machine on hand, can you go into a little more detail of what's not working?

Sorry I'm a little novice in this, I installed vlc with synaptic and when I want to run it does not work.

Does nothing at all come up, or does your video not play correctly? If nothing at all, try opening a terminal, type vlc and copy & paste the output so we can see what's going on...

Install and update MX linux again and the problem was solved, I do not know what could have happened. Thank you very much for responding and sorry for the inconvenience.

VLC was updated in the recent debian updates. So, maybe some dependency was not right.
A reinstall and update would fix all of the dependencies.

I'll check my fully updated system tonight to make sure VLC works.
