[SOLVED] Desktop icons are not visible

I ve got MX 17 installed.

One day I have noticed that all desktop icons are missing, although they are still visible in Thunar. Can anybody help me resolve the issue?

xfdesktop probably stopped running, and the saved session feature of Xfce is remembering not to run it (which is dumb, but it happens).

so restart xfdesktop

and then you should be good.
