Gnome desktop system

#1 Post by Ray66 »

I have downloaded gnome from synaptic and checked in mx package installer
In other distro's there is normally a way of switching from the current xfce enviroment to gnome at login
There is nothing at login except the request for a password in mx 17
How do I switch to gnome or mate from the xfce system

there should be a session chooser in the top right hand corner of the lightdm login screen.

I understand that Gnome requires/depends on systemd so you'd need to select the systemd kernel at boot.
