SOLVED: Fake Transparency in LXTerminal or xfce4-terminal?

Have not been able to figure out how to do 'fake transparency' in either terminal emulator listed.

I can make the terminal window transparent, but the desktop wallpaper only shows inside the emulator window if there are no open windows between the terminal window and the desktop.

Any thoughts on how to do this would be welcome. Thanks.

I get the same thing.

I'm shooting for a terminal window which shows the underlying wallpaper only, not any open windows items that may be between the terminal and the wallpaper.

Here's a screenshot from another Linux install to show what I'm after...

Thanks.

Did you turn off the Xfce compositing under window manager tweaks?

asqwerth, turning off xfce compositing did the trick.

Will mark thread as solved.

Thanks.
