I use sakura (my bspwm and xfce terminal) to trigger PyWal. PyWal changes my wallpaper (with every terminal opening) and matches the colors across my desktop (workspaces) to the wallpaper dominant wallpaper colors. This includes changing colors in sakura, neovim, ranger, vifm, etc. Pure eye-candy. Not really useful but fun.

Opps thanks manyroads have just found sakura.conf file in .config/sakura was pretty late night after installing sakura.
It seems that sakura only builds the config file after you first run the program. I will compare mine with yours.
This is my sakura.conf
Thanks mate.

Re: Terminal Emulator Choices
Nice. I am now playing with terminator as well (much more traditional GUI interface). :lipsrsealed: tmux was not working for me in the tiling space. Terminator, though, is amazingly easy for the limited multiplexing I want.KoO wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 1:45 am Opps thanks manyroads have just found sakura.conf file in .config/sakura was pretty late night after installing sakura.

Re: Terminal Emulator Choices
Ever since the Xfce devs added dropdown to the Xfce4 terminal it has become my go-to no matter what WM I am using or if I am using Xfce.
Re: Terminal Emulator Choices
I've decided on kitty due to its multiplexing abilities...

Re: Terminal Emulator Choices
I have just tried kitty, it looks fantastic, but the biggest "no no" for me is that it does not work with fcitx (as I need to type in Vietnamese a lot)
Re: Terminal Emulator Choices
I found out that Kitty can do Ctrl+C to Copy when something is selected, and to Abort if not.
That has been a big PITA remembering to do Ctrl+Shift+C to Copy on the terminals.
I admit that I don't understand what "mutiplexing" does for me...

Re: Terminal Emulator Choices
Hi Bob.... because you use floating (stacking) windows on icewm etc, the benefit of a terminal multipleexer is harder to visualize & realize. In a tiler using a multiplexing terminal, you are able to have multiple terminals windows open on the same screen at the same time. You can think of it as having simultaneously open terminal tabs or neatly placed windows. Because of the way tilers work, this is pretty easy to do and then to use and share terminal information/ actions from screen to screen. Because tilers are terminal centric there are many terminal features available in tiling environments that stacking window managers approach differently. It's all just part of the fun. Is it better? I guess that's all about personal preference(s).

Re: Terminal Emulator Choices
Sometimes tabs in the same window are ok, but other times I need more than one tab on the screen at the same time to be able to compare or easily copy/paste between them. With kitty thus far I have multiple tabs in a window.
With other terminal programs I open multiple windows of the program and then I use the WinGrid or WinArrange or the mouse to rearrange the windows to setup for that workflow.
Is there a way kitty can help me do that efficiently? I see its taking about 40 mb of memory, so I would like to not let it double. I really do like having Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V for copy/paste because that's what the graphical programs, as well as my MS Win stuff at work use.
Thanks :)
