Desktop only accessible through file manager

#1 Post by radissthor »

Hi all,

I'm Running MX 17. My problem is that the desktop is now unusable. It shows the default desktop image with the clock widget, but the mouse doesn't work on it (right and left click don't do anything) and none of the files I have in the /desktop folder are shown. If I change the desktop background image, the change is not shown. It seems as if the desktop was replaced by a frozen image.

I had a similar problem before which led to a general malfunction of the desktop environment. That was back in MX15 and it was solved by running

Code: Select all

xfwm4
This does not solve the problem now. Any suggestions to solve this are much appreciated.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.
