On the second thread it looks like they are discussing how to set the panel on both displays. That was helpful but, still nothing on how to make the left display the secondary display. ans still have it show up as the left display.
Oh well, It's snowing and too slippery to be running a chainsaw now anyway. So, I have a little time.

T ell wit it. just re arranged my desk and switched the monitors. Still can't find a fix.

I finally got the laptop & monitor to behave.
For me, the secret was defining in Settings>Display, and in Panel Settings which allows specifying where to place the menú and panel.
At least, now, the mouse movement is logical.
