Uninstall Nvidia Driver

#1 Post by mmontz »

Just did a new install of MX-17. Complete system wipe from MX-16.

I am having an issue with panel fonts. When first booted the panel fonts are larger than they are set to. Restarting the panel resolves this issue. Some of the fonts for apps in the notification tray are larger than the others.

I don't think this was happening be for installing the Nvidia driver. Never installed it on MX-16.

Searching the forums , I found this command but it does not work.

Code: Select all

sudo nvidia-installer --uninstall
This is my graphic card info:

Code: Select all

inxi -G
Graphics: Card: NVIDIA G98M [GeForce 9300M GS]
           Display Server: x11 (X.Org 1.19.2 ) driver: nvidia Resolution: 1920x1200@59.94hz
           OpenGL: renderer: GeForce 9300M GS/PCIe/SSE2 version: 3.3.0 NVIDIA 340.104
Thanks,
Michael

If you used our nvidia-installer tool, try this

sudo ddm-mx -p nvidia

That should remove everything.

Although I got to admit that sounds like a strange problem.

The icons in the notification are are set smaller than the rest of the panel by defualt, in case that helps you.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

It's not the icons, their fine. It's the font size. The font size in Clipit is significantly larger than network manager or bluetooth.

Removing the Nvidia driver solved the problem.

I tried it with both the MX and backports driver with the same result.

This is not an issue for me since I've used MX-16 with the Nouveau driver on this machine for quite sometime. I was just trying the Nvidia driver.

Thanks for your help.
