Hi
Trying to install MX Linux 18 alongside Lubuntu 19.04
It's easy to install Lubuntu alongside Ubuntu for example - just choose the partition size and away you go.
MX Linux is too complex for me - already messed up my boot order for my internal SSD.
So, how to install it effectively alongside Lubuntu without disturbing my internal SSD boot record, and have the dual boot menu of Lubuntu/MXLinux when I boot from the USB?
I only want those two systems on USB as they are fast and suitable, but if MX Linux is going to be such a complex pain I'll drop it and just stick with Lubuntu (faster too).
Thanks.

If MX is too complex, as you say, not using the system, it could mess up the valuable internal SSD. Lubuntu is faster use that distro you will have no problems.

Ya
MX Linux seems OK as a system, but Lubuntu better for a USB install I think, and definitely easier.
Maybe in future the devs will make the installation process a bit easier like with Ubuntu etc.

Just go with what you like: it's a big Linux world.
Production: 5.10, MX-23 Xfce, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 16 GB, SSD 120 GB, Data 1TB
Personal: Lenovo X1 Carbon with MX-23 Fluxbox and Windows 10
Other: Raspberry Pi 5 with MX-23 Xfce Raspberry Pi Respin

Simple solution, buy another USB stick, one for Lubuntu, the other for MX, problem solved, for the cost of another USB stick.
