Hi Mate,
my HP Notebook 17-ak023ng makes Difficulties with LiveUSB MX 18.1,
It has Mint 19 Cinnamon today,
but I want to install MX here.
I has installed already MX 18 on my Desktop PC
and on old VAIO-Laptop two Weeks ago
from this LiveUSB
instead Cinnamon and Mint Mate...
it runs perfectly on this Devices
makes DualBoots here without Problems....
Yesterday I tried many times to install MX on my HP-Laptop,
no Chance.
LiveUSB does not run correctly here,
it makes a boot,
I have MX Desktop with MXWelcomeGreeting,
I can close this Windows
and then all is frozen...
May be, the MX-Kernel (4.19.0-1) does not match with this HP Notebook...
Which Kernel were the best for my Device:
HP Notebook 17-ak023ng
I tried to install old Kernel 4.14 on my LiveUSB,.
no Chance...
Remaster does not work properly,
see this Pictures.
I have no Ideas more....
Thanks
vvm

I cannot read the text in the images. Maybe the size of attached images is limited.

Try uploading the image to someplace like postimage and then put the thumbnail link for forums in your post.

Re: HP Notebook 17-ak023ng makes Difficulties with LiveUSB
are you trying to remaster the MX Live boot ?
or are you trying to actually install MX from that Live Boot Media ?.

Re: HP Notebook 17-ak023ng makes Difficulties with LiveUSB
It sounds as though whatever tool you used to burn the MX ISO image to a USB stick burned it in read-only mode using dd. A work-around, if you have a second USB stick available, would be to boot into the live MX USB that you already have, the read-only one, then run MX Tools/MX Live USB Maker and burn the MX ISO to your second USB stick in full-featured mode to make a writable USB, then reboot with the second USB.

Re: HP Notebook 17-ak023ng makes Difficulties with LiveUSB
We can't write to a read-only file-system. Therefore we can't remaster because this involves writing to the live-usb device. I imagine you made your live-usb with a tool that does a simple "dd" copy which creates a live-usb with a read-only iso9660 file system. If you have another usb stick then there is a very simple and easy solution.
Boot the live system, plug in the 2nd usb-stick and run one of the live-usb-maker programs. It will offer to clone your running live system. Select this option and then in about a minute (on decent hardware) you will have an award-winning, full featured live-usb that allows remaster, persistence and a bunch of other good stuff: The Most Extensive Live-usb on the Planet!
