And what should I do as an end-user, to stick with 4.14 kernel until that module is fixed?

hello,
I tried to install MX 19, dual boot with my MS windows 10.
At the end of the installation, a message alerts that GRUB did not installed and give instructions to try reinstalling it in the GRUB recovery console in LiveCD.
I have installed succesfully many distros in the past, but now I am trying it with a new HW wich has windows installed in /dev/sda an SSD 450GB and the linux installation was in the /dev/sdb disk.
I can see that the first partition /dev/sda1 is an EFI System, Can this be related with the problem..

Thanks fehlix, meanwhile I solved it, it was only a matter of disabling the secure option in the bios, which was difficult to find because, it was hidden under a "compatibility mode" which didn't allow the option for EPS location of Grub...
