The MX Codecs Installer menu item fails immediately after a new install of 17.1 June 64-bit. It starts by executing
wget -qO- http://deb-multimedia.org/dists/stable/ ... ackages.gz | zgrep ^Filename | grep libdvdcss2 | awk '{print $2}'
which fails with
CANNOT CONNECT TO THE DOWNLOAD SITE
as does
wget -qO- http://deb-multimedia.org/dists/stable/ ... ackages.gz | zgrep ^Filename | grep w.*codecs | awk '{print $2}'
with the same failure. Yet, I can ping deb-multimedia.org with 160ms response.
MX Codecs Installer Failure
Re: MX Codecs Installer Failure
Thanks, I probably messed up something, let me take a look.
Re: MX Codecs Installer Failure
No, it's probably not me, I think there's something wrong with the site the wget command doesn't work anymore, let's wait to see if they fix it. Pinging a site is not always an indication that everything works fine. I don't get anything when I go to http://deb-multimedia.org
Re: MX Codecs Installer Failure
installed, no problem here.

Re: MX Codecs Installer Failure
Solved. Required a reboot, but download successful finally.
Re: MX Codecs Installer Failure
It was a problem with the server, I can see it now. So nothing to do with the reboot (it's not Windows after all :)

Looks like the site is down at the moment?
