I thought Win10 needs to boot in UEFI?
It's not necessary. Neither is Secure Boot. Or GPT partitioning. There's a huge difference between what MSFT requires of the OEMs and what is necessary from a technical standpoint.
Desktop: Custom build Asus/AMD/nVidia -- MEPIS 11
Laptop: Acer Aspire 5250 -- MX-15
