Macbook Retina 10 1 Live Boot black screen

#1 Post by Marteni » Sun May 20, 2018 10:05 pm

I've been running MX Linux on my PC Desktop for a while now and really like it so I'd thought I'd have a shot at installing 17.1 on my late 2012 Macbook Pro Retina 10 1. All goes well up to the point (i think) of starting the X server, then all goes black.

I've tried the 1024 and failsafe options from Grub with the same result.

I have successfully installed various distros - Mint, Ubuntu, Zorin, Elementary etc - on this mac in the past.

Any advice on how proceed with debugging this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Did you ever find a solution for this? Trying to install the latest MX 17.1 snapshot on a mid 2015 retina MBP and have the same issue (black window)
