Boot after installation

#1 Post by Kikujadek » Fri Dec 22, 2017 8:25 pm

Hi
I just have installed MX-17 on Acer Aspire ES1-111-C4GS and I can't boot the system. I have UEFI with secure boot enabled and it says no bootable device. When I switch to legacy it boots but freezes after grub, just black screen.
I have tried to use "select an uefi file as trusted for executing" but there is no hdd in there.
I had Linux Lite and Sparky Linux on this netbook which booted without any problem.
Any solutions?
Thanks

Isn't this one of those troublesome BayTrail machines that has a 32-bit instead of a 64-bit UEFI?

DiSable secure boot.

lenovo s21e & 100s - antiX-17, MX17(live-usb)
FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

How do I check It? It has 64-bit cpu but where to check UEFI?
Disabling secure boot didn't help "no bootable device" as before. :(

when booting UEFI, it should be installed to the esp partition of the device. assuming you have a 64bit UEFI that is.
