MX-17 RAID Installation

#1 Post by stroudmw » Sun Dec 17, 2017 2:06 am

I'm trying to install MX-17 on a RAID 0 array. I live boot the system, and run sudo apt update followed by sudo apt install mdadm. Then: sudo mdadm --assemble -scan. All good, and my RAID disks are detected (MD125 "/", MD126 "/home" MD127 "/swap").

However, the only disk the installer sees is MD127: /swap. What am I doing wrong?

I'm open to corrections but AFAIK, the installer is not designed to work with RAID.
Will I cry when it's all over?
When I die will I see Heaven?

That's a pity. Debian, Ubuntu, and Fedora all support RAID. But I had been looking forward to MX-17. I've just learned that Sparky Linux has the same issue it seems, so you're not alone.
