Samba upgrades

#1 Post by anticapitalista »

There are Samba upgrades now available in the repos.

Could someone who uses Samba check to see if the upgrade doesn't break previous settings/workings of Samba.

I just applied the upgrades in MX-14.
Now my machine is stuck on setting up Samba common.
This is in synaptic.

Can you see the messages that synaptic shows? Maybe it is waiting for user input.

I appear to have lost the ability to browse the network through thunar.

Shares still show up with smbclient -L hostname though. I'll investigate further tonight.

It does ask if you want to use the new /etc/samba.conf (I think that is right) or user the user version.

Don't use the new one. Keep the one you're using.
