MX-14.1.1 "Symbiosis" bugfix and enhancements release available

Almost 3 months on from the release of MX-14, we now make available upgraded versions (pae and non-pae). This version has fixed some bugs found in MX-14 and Debian upstream, and includes updated packages and some new features.

Iceweasel replaces qupzilla
LibreOffice updated to 4.2.4 version
MX-packageinstaller replaces metapackage installer
Easy frugal and persistence set up.
New default theme and icon set ("Zukitwo-Dark" and "GNOME-Brave").

Available here:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/antix- ... l/MX-14.1/

Enjoy!

That looks great!

Your desktop image makes me think: over the next cycle, we need to begin to translate at least some of the Documentation, beginning with the QuickStart. I will pursue that once things settle down a bit.

Just a clarification, if you installed and use MX-14 you don't need to re-install. These are improvements that matter to LiveCD use, and obviously if you want Iceweasel instead of Qupzilla you can do the change yourself.

Question: On existing installations, is it advisable to remove metapackage installer and add MX-packageinstaller?

MX-packageinstaller replaces metapackage installer ....

New default theme and icon set.
Is MX-packageinstaller a different program (under a different name) from metapackage installer, or will the normal updates of version 14.0 pull in this new replacement package? [similar/related question to joany's above; was about to post my question when I saw hers]

Also, what is the new default theme and icon set?

Thanks.

Both work, though you only need one. The new MX Package Installer has updated content and code, and will be maintained from here on out for MX Linux.

Existing users will need to install MX Package Installer, MX Boot Repair and MX Switch User if they want them. The new theme is "Zukitwo-Dark" and the icon set is "GNOME-Brave"

mx-packageinstaller should be available in the default repos for installation. there are a couple of differences in the app selection (Browser for instance contains options for qupzilla), and since adrian did the coding, it will be much more likely to be updated than the older metapackage-installer.
