Hi, would you recommend I install this instead of "firmware-b43-lpphy-installer 1:015-14.1" ?anticapitalista wrote:ln -s /proc/self/fd /dev/fd seems to have fixed it.

My Broadcom chip is: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY [14e4:4315] (rev 01)
2 questions:
1. In other words, is the "wl" driver any better or worse than "B43" which the "firmware-b43-lpphy-installer" installs?
I made another attempt at this as shown in my post at antiX forums, but this time I just did a fresh install of "MX-14_13.97_386-xfce" and the first thing I did after I booted to the desktop was to install "firmware-b43-lpphy-installer 1:015-14.1"
Now when I start MX-14_13.97, using default network manager, I get a popup that network is disconnected. I wait about 5-8 seconds and network manager in the notification area starts spinning, then I get connected to my wifi. (I have previously set up my wpa password).
2. So, would the "WL" driver be connected when xfce desktop is loaded, or would I have to view the disconnection notice, then connection notice in 5-8 seconds like the driver I'm currently using?
Thank you,
Jon
