Re: Clementine issues in MX-14 Beta1
Playing a CD and internet radio will work, just not mp3's.
I installed the 1.02 version from stable, created a library (got a seg fault, but library did get created), and then upgraded to the community version, and its working.

The libtag problem affects the scanning of new files.
If you upgrade clementine when you already have a music library scanned, but the libtag versions don't match up then clementine won't be able to add new files to the library. It will play the existing library just fine.
Since M12 also has wheezy-backports enabled by default, I think we should rebuild Clementine to use the new libtag.

I'm good with following Tim's recommendation--based on my deep knowledge and understanding of the issues involved...

looking at the wheezy-backports, some are marked non-automatic and some are not? reasons?

Clementine-1.2.1-0mcr120+2 is now in the Testing CR.
I have upgraded a non-working clementine on MX-14 b1 from the CR, and it now works properly.

Re: Clementine issues in MX-14 Beta1
OK...so this is solved, but I want to ask about the new vlc 2.1.2-2 in the CR. Basically, it's a rebuild of the wheezy-backports version (which has been missing vlc-data for a week), which probably would have been in the ISO if something hadn't messed up on their end. ( I got tired of waiting for them) Anyway, it's built against the newer libav in backports, and so will need to install the newer libraries, such as libavcodec54. Deadbeef was built against the older libav, so will need libavcodec53 and so on.
In short, using the newest VLC will take more room in the ISO, unless we rebuild Deadbeef and gstreamer-ffmpeg against the newer libav, then the older libraries can be removed from the ISO. Let us know if you need this to clear out a few MB.
