Blobby Volley MX-18 Edition ;)

#1 Post by Fibogacci »

Hello,

just to celebrate MX-18, I have modified a little this old game Blobby Volley. I prefer that new custom look ;)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcmQaSUhFcA

So, If you'd like to play with another MX as MX with MX ball, here you are:

1. In MX Package Installer in Stable Repo there is "blobby"
2. After installing in folder /usr/share/blobby are config files.
3. In backgrounds.zip are backgrounds, in gfx.zip are images of players and ball.
4. I share on Google Drive my modifications:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... DgK6sV4HpO

You can copy those two files (backgrounds.zip and gfx.zip) into /usr/share/blobby

Please do a backup of original files (.zip) first, if you'd like normal players and balls back later.

May the MX be with you. ;)

That's really cool! Hey... what if, for the ball graphic, we could swap in the head from jerry's avatar...

Actually, the "blobby" game seems a bit hard (hard to win, human vs autobot).
This one is less difficult https://packages.debian.org/stretch/slimevolley and its package is only 1.2Mb

For a customized version of the game, rather than a bgimage that has ya "staring into the sun", I might choose the dark blue image the MX bootscreen is derived from. Aha, the game supports at least 2 background images slimevolley-data/filelist.
Community project? Contribute custom graphics assets & package an MX-flavored version of the game?
