You do.
Son, someday all this will belong to your ex wife.
Re: Want it, with MX-18 on it
Am I the only one that hates dual-booting? It didn't take me long to get tired of that. I like either one thing or the other, but not have to fool with both at once. The only exception is when I turn an unused DVD drive into an extra hard drive, but still want 2 Linux and not Linux and Windows.
I'm down to a single Windows computer now, and only put Windows on it because Skype works better on Windows, but not even using it for that lately, so probably buy another SSD and install MX on that too.

I did not make any claims.

@clicktician I always look to see if the Dell I'm interested is ubuntu certified (here: https://certification.ubuntu.com/). If it is, then the unit is a candidate for purchase. Once I get the unit, I wipe it clean with a complete MX install these days (earlier it was with a clean manjaro install) . Once the install is stable with MX and that takes minutes... I move my Windows 10 vbox (virualbox) virtual machine on to my new device and tada. All done and ready to roll. I do not like dual boots (a personal preference) but I do have a couple of Win10 apps (for genealogy) that I like running on a virtual machine.

Re: Want it, with MX-18 on it
There might be a market for those refurbished Dells set up with a Win/MX dual boot, as long as Win updates don't break the MX boot like they love to do. Setting that up is no doubt quite scary for a beginner. Maybe that could be the first thing in an MX store!
Re: Want it, with MX-18 on it
I don't have a bootable windows installation.
Since I'm not a gamer there's not much reason.

Re: Want it, with MX-18 on it
@stevo, why bother with dual boot when a virtual machine provides better security? Oh and it boots faster.... :lipsrsealed:

I'd say well over 90% of MX users dual boot Windows, and they want it that way. There's a lot of bragging that goes on, but in the end, they dual boot. And that's a problem if you only sell boxes with Linux.
My preferred options for this came out at $1,287. Maybe not today.
Does anyone have experience with the Intel® Iris™ Plus Graphics 655? I vaguely recall some of the Intel graphics can be a bit tricky.

Some machines only let you update the BIOS in Windows. I suppose you could sell MX-only alongside the dual boot machines and see what the market says.sunrat wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 9:19 pm87% of statistics on the internet are made up on the spot.richb wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 8:24 pmReally!!! I think our Mesa and other driver stack upgrades let us support the Iris graphics, but I'm not sure where that one sits in the Intel timeline.
$ 1,287 for a NUC? You can get a lot more powerful laptop for that kind of money.
