Downunder Seasons Greetings forecast

#1 Post by tascoast »

Best wishes to all, 33C expected locally for the 24-25th, which is I gather, in the vicinity of 91F for the imperially minded.

This of course means high fire risk, total fire bans likely in many areas, much swimming or air conditioning for sensitive types if lucky, the potential to fry an egg on steel surfaces, many flies and other curious activities like BBQs.

In western Queensland we're expecting fine & 36C today, then fine & 37C each day up until Sunday.
Outside now it's sunny & 34C, quite pleasant really compared to last week that had tops in the low to mid 40's all week.
We were lucky enough to get a much needed storm on Friday afternoon, 30 mls of rain from it.

Have a good one People :toast:

Launceston region Tas. 25-26C until Friday, then it ups a three or four degrees for the next few days. A chance of a few mils of rain over the weekend. Forecast to be 10C hotter each day over the same period where I used to live in NSW.

I am a climate change refugee. Headed south after the 10 days of 50C+ heat & strong hot winds 24hr/day that we had a couple of summers back where I used to live. It destroyed much of our 1 acre of gardens. There has never been anything anywhere like that in recorded weather history in that area of NSW.

It looks like Ko0 and I will have to figure out a way of sending rain to the rest of you. We have drought conditions too in NZ, mainly East Coast in the South Island, but other than getting the earth to revolve the other way and give us all prevailing easterlies, I don't have an answer.

Christmas Cheers.

34°C today and 26°C for the next 2 days in Melbourne. Apparently there is some kind of pseudo-religious celebration on tomorrow, but an actual religious celebration starting the next day for 5 days at the MCG.
