We had August 1 yesterday and nothing drastic happened. Although we are not even on the map so perhaps we do not come into the equation ?

Knowing quite a lot more about environmental degradation then say the physics of black holes, I've thought about starting a thread on climate change. However there is almost no possible way such a thread wouldn't end up locked due to becoming a political discussion and violating forum policy. I will say we're are all going to suffer the consequences of greed.

In a philosophical aspect, too much money to pollute egoistically for free and for an individual freedom ... so then, now, about 20% of the people in the planet pollute for 80%. . Gains are privatized and the debts (ecological, etc) are shared in our society model.
