In 2018, Earth Overshoot Day is on August 1. Earth Overshoot Day is calculated by Global Footprint Network
A country’s overshoot day is the date that Earth Overshoot Day would fall if all of humanity consumed like the people in this country.

 We had August 1 yesterday and nothing drastic happened. Although we are not even on the map so perhaps we do not come into the equation ?

Maybe we have to shake the planet a little bit more to better and faster dilute the CO2 to the south hemisphere ... lol.

The internet is awash and flooded by many stupid conspiracy theories that mean nothing. There is a very apt expression which goes ' Que Sera, Sera ' which means ' Whatever Will Be, Will Be '. If it's God's will, it will happen.

I think they used very old data for Venezuela.
I don't think we're keeping up anymore. :)

Knowing quite a lot more about environmental degradation then say the physics of black holes, I've thought about starting a thread on climate change. However there is almost no possible way such a thread wouldn't end up locked due to becoming a political discussion and violating forum policy. I will say we're are all going to suffer the consequences of greed.

Your are right @TauTsar, here it is for information, but it's quickly political ... right issues seems to mostly be, the greed and the planetary demographic aspect.

I wish that climate deniers were forced to work with/beside me outside in the West Texas Permian Basin for a week.
10 hour days, but I am nice. I put beer on ice at the end of the work day.

Might change some votes. Or not.

I bet the melanoma bill might change that opinion though.

Perhaps you aren't on the map because you overshot the earth years ago?

In a philosophical aspect, too much money to pollute egoistically for free and for an individual freedom ... so then, now, about 20% of the people in the planet pollute for 80%. . Gains are privatized and the debts (ecological, etc) are shared in our society model.
