So they reach the final... at least the whole team will give part of their bonus to charity (sounds more like a tip)

Belgium had twice the time of possession!

It must be believed that too much possession is never very well rewarded ;-)

Maybe, but France still had many more shots on goal, I think. That suggests that les Bleus play very good defense.

Maybe, and the 2018 french team is a good team.

I caught quite a few games this year. I watch on Telemundo, even though I don't understand half of what's being said. And I'm okay with that because I don't really want to listen to what the "experts" have to say, anyway. I enjoy seeing the games and, I don't know, there's something about having survived another four years, being here to even have the opportunity to watch the World Cup again. What I like most: Beautiful passing, outstanding play by the goalies, and seeing the players and fans from all over the world. I couldn't care less about who wins it all, really.

I hear ya, malspa. Comments on game play are very generic and the same lines are repeated over and over in every game. At least some of the info on players and history can be interesting.

I'd like to see a team from someplace other than Europe or South America win it all, for a change. I don't think that's ever happened.

I watched the replay of the match with my sons and from what I heard I thought they were really lucky but that's not true. Possession of the ball doesn't mean victory and the match statistics are clear: more shots more shots on goal, less faults and indeed a strong defense.
