MEPIS 12/MX 14 CR: The Inxi Thread

#1 Postby Stevo » Thu Jan 12, 2017 4:41 pm

The 2.3.5 version of this versatile hardware information script is now in the test repository. Among many improvements, it adds detection of several new video drivers that our former version did not, such as modesetting, amdgpu, and hopefully sisimedia.

Nice. Have you informed upstream so that they can incorporate the changes?

h2 (Harald Hope) had already made the changes in the 2.3.5 Stretch version Stevo backported that added the modesetting & amdgpu drivers, they weren't included in the Jessie version of inxi.

He may or may not want to add the sisimedia driver (do any other distros besides MX & antiX still install/support the sisimedia driver ?)

2.3.5 version of inxi has been in the antiX repo (smxi-inxi-antix (0.3.7)) since 03 December 2016. We have never used inxi version from Debian.

Yeah, I remember that now. The Debian (and Stevo's) inxi package won't install because of a conflict with '/usr/share/man/man1/inxi.1.gz' from the smxi-inxi-antix package.
