Debian has started keeping up with the releases, so 5.34 is now in the test repository, sourced from upstream Debian. This is a minor bugfix release:
* New upstream release 5.34
- Fixed a crash when hot-swapping monitors while locked.
(Closes: #802914)
- Fixed some incorrect output from xscreensaver-command -watch.

5.36, backported from Debian Stretch, is now in the main repo. This version is also patched by Debian to disable that annoying upgrade-nag time bomb that 5.34 now has triggered.

There are several new screensavers and many bugfixes--have fun with them!
