firefox-40.0.2 is now in the CR and ready for download. It would be nice to hear from those that had trouble with version 40.0 if this version is a fix.

mozilla doesn't seem to have a 51.0 release notes page yet but the beta release notes are up here if you wish to peruse.

Firefox 53.0 and its associated language packs are now in the main repository. A summary of the main changes that apply to Linux:

* Processors older than Pentium 4 or AMD Opteron no longer supported.
* Two new compact themes (dark and light).
* New legacy add-ons are no longer accepted on AMO.

An upgrade to our 53.0.2 version has landed in the main repository. This incorporates dolphin_oracle's nice fix to the bookmarks!
