MEPIS 11 Community Repo: The CLI-Companion Thread

#1 Postby Stevo » Sat Mar 12, 2011 3:23 am

Update 31 May 2011: CLI Companion is now in the main repo, Thanks!

CLI companion 1.0 is now available in the main test community repository, with all the nasty sudos removed and nice "su -c" commands replacing them ;). It's a terminal application with a list of many useful commands on hand, see: http://www.linux-magazine.com/Online/Bl ... -Companion

Please let us know how it's working, and any commands that would be nice additions. Thanks!

clicompanion - 1.0-4mcr110+1

Version: 1.0-4mcr110+1

Section: misc

Architecture: 32bit and 64bit

Description:
CLI Companion is an application that is used as a compliment to the Terminal.
People unfamiliar with the Terminal will find CLI Companion a useful way to
become acquainted with the Terminal. Using the built-in commands new users
can unlock the potential of the Terminal. Experienced users can use
CLI Companion’s add command feature to build a command dictionary.
Store commands as you come across them and no more do you have to
search for them.

Necro notice. :lipsrsealed:

Is this still around? Because I did a manual install

http://antix.freeforums.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6727

I can always throw out the baby with the bath water if it is available using

Code: Select all

# Mepis Community Main and Test Repos. Use carefully.
# deb http://mxrepo.com/mx/repo/ mx15 main non-free
# deb http://mxrepo.com/mx/testrepo/ mx15 test

I am posting from

Code: Select all

$ inxi -S
System:    Host: biker Kernel: 4.8.10-antix.1-686-smp-pae i686 (32 bit) Desktop: IceWM 1.3.8
           Distro: antiX-15-V_386-full Killah P 30 June 2015

If not available. No biggy. Just wondering is all.

Edit:My explanation for the no biggy mention is. AntiX and MX now use sudo. So converting to su not a such a biggy issue anymore.
