[solved] Winetricks do not launch, Q4Wine demands binary path

#1 Post by postcd » Sat Nov 03, 2018 6:12 am

I attempted to install Wine to launch Microsoft WIndows apps, in the process i found that Winetricks app when executed from within MX menu do not launch.
When i lookup the entry properties, the command is: winetricks --gui

When executed via command line, it says:

$ winetricks --gui
No arguments given, so tried to start GUI, but zenity not found.
Please install zenity if you want a graphical interface, or
run with --help for more options.
$ sudo apt install zenity
installed it and error went away, next error was:

Also the app Q4Wine "First startup wizard" was stuck at the page where it required to set the "Console application settings", Binary:
i entered path to the application that is a console/shell: /usr/bin/x-terminal-emulator
That apparently satisfied it (hopefully)
