Ya'll can agree to disagree. It's no big deal. C'mon now
:duel:
Of course that's self-understood. What is going to happen is that people who don't like that will move away from Gitub, I heard 200,000 projects or so did just that, while the rest, about 28 million users (58 mil. repos) will probably stay at least till Microsoft pisses people off somehow.
you didn't know that microsoft was a platinum member of linux foundation?
That's not the point, look at the members of LF: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_Foundation#Members but also consider the mission and the history, the fact that Microsoft joined LF relatively recent 2016 doesn't diminish Linux Foundation credibility.

This can be a never ending discussion without tangible evidence, Until and if there are negative impacts it is all just opinion. Opinions are fine but one should recognize them as such and not draw definitive conclusions that negative results will happen. Just my opinion.

Neither is mine, I got what you were trying to say, even like that I was reacting to the idea that Microsoft joining Linux Foundations in 2016 (pretty much a sign of defeat in respect to Open Source) means that Linux Foundation lost any credibility and now they are influenced by Microsoft.

Well, I've been living in US for 19 years, if that counts... Yet younger people than that speak the language perfectly, grrrr.

I think MS bought Github, at least in part, to get closer to developers and the open source community. MS needs developers, they learned that the hard way with Windows mobile. I also think in their minds they believe they are the good guys. But open source and Linux communities have a long memory. I hope Adrian is right and MS is going to be great caretakers of Github. But I don't trust them. I hope they prove me wrong, but I can only judge them by their past actions. Again, I hope they prove me wrong.
