CAVA (Request)

#1

Post by manyroads » Tue Jul 30, 2019 7:19 pm

Would it be possible to get this music visualizer added to the repos?

https://github.com/karlstav/cava

Thanks!

One problem is that upstream Debian already has an unrelated cava source, so I'll have to rename the new source to something else: https://packages.debian.org/stable/source/cava

Here's some packages: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1THaRk ... WyHLmIZVZg_

It runs from "cava" in the terminal, but ignores my music streaming from the Net and instead shows only the audio from my laptop's builtin microphone. I guess that depends on your hardware, or what you have in its configuration file, which I didn't have time to research.

@stevo, thank you. I needed to download (borrow) someone's config file in order to get cava running. Here's an image of it running on MX18 in my bspwm desktop.

btw. Did you notice how I saved space by not showing an image here... :lipsrsealed: :crossfingers:

Here's the config file I borrowed:
