or you install openshot video editor. It's in the 'normal' repos.

Do use the one in MX testing testing though, openshot-qt. The one in MXPI popular (IIRC that is where it is) has some issues. :)

or download the appimage... mark the file executable and double-click on the appimage file to run.

I don't know which one is the preferred method.. you're best off using the test repo first I think before moving to appimages and other things.

We don't have Avidemux in the MX repos because of some patent entanglements that deb-multimedia doesn't worry about, being in France.

I do have it in my own multimedia backports repo, though: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=127574

Steve (now barricaded in my bunker against any patent lawyers)

By the way, I guess we still have the key for the deb-multimedia repo installed so the codecs installer can work; otherwise it would have to be installed.

Truly there is little (no?) risk in using the appimage. It works fine and is dead simple to setup. I have not seen any patent lawyers since the owners built & provide the appimage... ;)

It's free for the download here... https://www.fosshub.com/Avidemux.html

This is not a paid endorsement... :lipsrsealed:
I am still as poor as ever.

Deb-multimedia has broken multiple users' GIMP installs here, including one posting today. Notice how I knew from the start what the problem was in that thread. We discourage use of deb-multimedia for these reasons.

The install procedure does not work for MX-19, as it is not in the repositories...

Anyone have a clue as to when AVIDemux will be available for this version?

It's too clunky in Virtualbox/XP
