Currently Debian is testing secure boot on Sid and would be coming to Debian 10.

Re: Secure Boot is being tested on Debian Sid [News]
I think it would require the Debian Installer, but maybe the MX installer could figure out how to use a signed Debian kernel. I don't know how the security model works though. How secure would it be if any user could also create their own modified kernel with the keys? I would think that the keys would have to be kept secret by Debian.

Does it need to be a signed kernel? Would be nice if it was somehow independent architecturally.

Re: Secure Boot is being tested on Debian Sid [News]
I never had a chance to try out secure boot in windows since my last OS I used was windows 7.
If I understand correctly secure boot prevents root kits and OS tampering, is the reverse also possible where secure boot prevents bios/uefi tampering?

Re: Secure Boot is being tested on Debian Sid [News]
Since hackers quickly found ways around Secure Boot, its main feature has been to make installing an alternative OS, such as Linux, much more difficult. Cynics have said that's its raison d'etre.
