Icon breakage on MX18?

Hi all.

Is anyone out there using 'evolution' on MX18? I suspect that 'evolution' is the cuprit causing my wife's ePapirus icons to reset to Adwaita icons. She needs to logout &login in order to reset (fix) them. I run the same themes, icons, etc but no 'evolution' and have zero problems. Ergo the 'blame' assessment.

after she closes the evolution window or brings the screen back from suspend

edit: I'm guessing it is an evolution gtk3 'thing' of some sort. She did not have the problem on manjaro xfce4.13

If you save the icon set in user's home instead of in root, the icons won't show up for programs run as root.

They are installed system wide.... I'll duplicate them in her home dirs
