More testing for VLC 3.0.5?

For those Nvidia card users, does playing with the Hardware Acceleration settings in Input/Codecs or the video output in Video make any difference when starting vlc from the terminal and playing one of the problem files? You have to restart vlc after making any of those changes.

Hardware Acceleration was disabled for me.. trying automatic: same result

OpenGL is what it tries by default, so could you try the XV or X11 outputs?
