Yeah, but what is the size of the ISO? mx-snapshot can also use lz4 you just need to change a setting in /etc/mx-snapshot.conf.

If it's 1.3GB and it takes 10 minutes you didn't use LZ4

One ISO at 1.3 GB and one at 4 GB with the same encryption? Not likely. Also considering that the official release is about 1.3GB unless you significantly reduced it in size you could have not made a snapshot with LZ4. Also 10 minutes it's a pretty clear sign you didn't use LZ4 encryption check the log: /var/log/mx-snapshot.log look at the mksquashfs command line.

Don't waste my time with stupid claims. Why you cannot check your log it's going to help clarify things for you, things are pretty clear to me.
1. I cannot take a system snapshot with LZ4 that is less than about 4GB, if you get 1.3GB it's a different compression algorithm
2. It doesn't take more than 20 seconds on my machine wish SSD. Close to 10 seconds you said you got with the other tool.
3. 10 minutes is about how much it takes with xz or other similar compression formats.
