Distrowatch ranking for MX Linux is way up. MX Linux is in the number 2 spot when looking back over 7 days.

We all know about the limits of DW rankings, but this sequence is still pretty neat:

6 mos -- #5
3 mos -- #4
30 days -- #3
7 days -- #2

Higher than Mint, even though their latest release was much more recent than ours! That must count for something.

The DistroWatch Page Hit Ranking statistics are a light-hearted way of measuring the popularity of Linux distributions and other free operating systems among the visitors of that website. They correlate neither to usage nor to quality and should not be used to measure the market share of distributions. They simply show the number of times a distribution page on DistroWatch.com was accessed each day, nothing more.

We're all totally aware of that, but thanks.

Always a bad sign. It means the forum gets flooded with posts like:

1) Ubuntu/Mint doesn't do it this way, so you must be doing it wrong.
2) If you don't make MX do what I want, I'll just go back to Windows.

Ugh.

That's OK, set phasers on ignore.

Hello, mepnoob2005

There is another interesting aspect to the Distrowatch list.

Rather than raise it here (in MX forum) I posted it here...

https://www.linuxquestions.org/question ... ost5897885

...and now refer you to it. :alien:

It discusses the User Avg Rating score which can be a substantially different list to the Ranking.

I think rank of the User Avg Rating is an important measure too. :lipsrsealed:

Regards to All,

boombaby :turtle:
