Now that you mention it either do I. I have always used post and thread links rather than post numbers to refer to a post. Right clicking on the post title and then copy link address in Chrome browsers, copy Link Location in Firefox.
It always flummoxed me when numbers were used as those numbers change whether you set posts ascending or descending in your control panel. I use descending. A post number would be cited by someone using ascending and it would be an unrelated post.

@richb Is there a chance of getting either "#" or "@" functions working? I think you said @richb worked 'once upon a time'

Please elaborate. Not sure what those functions would do?

Basically if I input @richb in a post or reply, you get a notification. If I use a #hashtag the word (hashtag) becomes a tag like on twitter. Here's an example on Vanilla Forums: https://open.vanillaforums.com/discussi ... r-hashtags

No plans to implement those.

The posts are no longer given a number which can be quite useful if you want to point someone to post #36 for example.
