social media

#1 Post by Jerry3904 »

With the addition now of Reddit, the Home page was getting pretty messy looking to my eyes. So I put in a single "Social media" link to this new page:

https://mxlinux.org/wiki/other/mx-linux-social-media

That makes the Home page look more reasonable IMO.

I'm not sure that the MX pages on the key social media sites like FB, G+, Twitter should have their links relegated to Wiki.

Many official sites seem to have their main social media links at the bottom or top of the main page, and often the links are just represented by the distinctive logo/icon of that social media entity.

E.g.

https://solus-project.com/
https://manjaro.github.io/
https://www.linuxmint.com/
https://elementary.io/
Desktop: Intel i5-4460, 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics
Clevo N130WU-based Ultrabook: Intel i7-8550U (Kaby Lake R), 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics (UEFI)
ASUS X42D laptop: AMD Phenom II, 6GB RAM, Mobility Radeon HD 5400

Yup, I see that a lot. Don't know why that would be better or why the sites "should" not be put in the Wiki where changes can be made without touching the Home page. Also don't know who would do the coding, since my skills in html and Drupal are minimal.

I am thinking of changing "Social media" on the Home page to "Follow us."
EDIT: did that and added an arrowhead
