Update MX video pages?

#1 Post by BitJam »

Should we start adding LinuxHelpGuy videos to the MX site?

Another thought is to include author info so viewers know who made a video before they start it. One way to do this is to organize videos by author. There is probably an internal order to the videos one author makes so it makes sense for them to be grouped together. Also, some viewers might prefer or dislike (heaven forbid) certain authors.

There might be additional ways to organize or label the videos. For example, what videos should a Linux newbie look at? We could have green, yellow, and red dots or something for beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

Maybe this is too much work. It was just a thought.

We will for sure want to add his videos--or his video channel. And I too have started thinking about how to reorganize the video pages with this embarassment of riches. Peregrine will have thoughts about it as webmaster for sure, so it is a good topic for some discussion.

@Jerry I added the link.
I would like to add the Linux Help videos to the website like we do for Dolphins videos.
Then we could have a dropdown at the top to choose from a list we provide. This is not difficult to do.

I would like to put that decision off for a little while if you don't mind. In general, I want to reserve the editorial function of selecting which to post on our site if we decide to go that way.

We already have his review linked and summarized on the Review page, so that is covered.

We have added authors' names now to the video titles, and it seems to be OK.

Working on a simple organization for left pane--soon.
