Following up Phil's comment about a problem pasting between pages of a pdf, have downloaded Master PDF Vsn 3.2.81, which is supposed to contain improvements to cut & paste. Be a couple of days before I can report results, fine weather here and I have some pruning to finish.

OK - cut and paste does work, not only between pages in a pdf document, but also between pdf documents. My problem was that the paste can't be positioned - it appears at the top centre of the page and I missed it on previous attempts. You then have to move it where you want it.

Changing font and attributes is also straightforward. When editing text, special characters are generally not available, but can be inserted by copying them from the clipboard.

In Synaptic, the package is named master-pdf-editor3. Installed OK from there for me.

I don't see a master-pdf-editor3 package (or variations of that name) in the repos.

Code: Select all

$ apt-cache policy master-pdf-editor master-pdf-editor3 master-pdf-editor-3
N: Unable to locate package master-pdf-editor
N: Unable to locate package master-pdf-editor3
N: Unable to locate package master-pdf-editor-3
I did find this here: https://code-industry.net/free-pdf-editor/.

Is that it?

That screen pic from Synaptic doesn't necessarily mean the package is in the repos, it just means it's installed.

Run the apt-cache policy command I posted.

My apology Kent. Just checked my downloads folder and that package has been there for several months, must have installed it but
forgot about it until last week when this thread started. apt-cache command says that master-pdf-editor3, Version 3.1 is installed.

kmathern, I ran the apt-cache policy command you posted and got identical results. Earlier this morning, I searched the web and found the tarball here
http://linuxg.net/how-to-install-master ... x-systems/
I downloaded it and ran the commands to install it. It ran of my 64-bit MEPIS 12. But I haven't played with it yet.
