Also recently found MX Linux. Been using Linux since 1998 (first distro was SUSE Linux Professional) and *BSD. Tried many distributions since then, both professionally and private, but totally missed Mepis and antiX. So impressed with MX Linux, especially version 17.1. It's fast-responsive-efficient, stable, useroriented with great UI and fantastic MX tools. Kudos. respect MX Linux "team"!

In order to answer that, you need to spell out what 'Mepis/antiX/MX concepts' you mean.
Hi anticapitalista,
from what i understand :
  • close to autonomous (the less relations as possible with monopolies/business companies) ;
  • shareable ;
  • tested (aka "close to 'safe'") ;
  • collaborative ;
  • (easily) learnable/shareable if one puts an effort on learning (implying a quest of autonomy) ;
  • esthetically enjoyable.

Probably for most of the Linux distros that aren't on the top list : the first argument is a trap.

Have a look at this very (interesting and quite revealing IMO) recent video about MEPIS 2003.

What would be your MX definition ? What makes it exceptional ?

Possibly.
I'm still looking for an answer about "what can be called 'success'" concerning MX.
