1) I deleted my original SimplyMEPIS-1.5G_11.0.12_64 listing
2) and created a new listing and reuploading my torrent.

I'm seeding it now.

If someone could check my work and let me know it is OK on their side too, then I'll re-do the 32 bit, too.

...And please help seed the new listing (assuming that is necessary - since it only shows one seed (me) at the moment EDIT: after a few moments it seems all the previous seeders are showing up)

Thanks,
Bill
Bill,

Testing your torrent there are only two seeders, I am downloading now... it appears the old download torrents are not showing on Linux tracker, and no one will find them, without an update like you performed with the 64 bit...

See my attachment for the only seeders...

Chatan,

Thank you! I am downloading now in this new install, with 6 seeders, and I am uploading the 64 bit now to an Indonesia torrent user. I had not had any uploads on the links I received earlier in the thread, today have one so I know it is working...

It appears there are good links at linxtracker that are working for mepis downloaders...

Thank you torrent team...

Now that the 11.0.12s are up and running I have removed the 11.0.00s.

More Torrent Question for Mepis: from the "Get Mepis" webpage http://www.mepis.org/mirrors there are two torrent sites listed

http://linuxtracker.org/index.php?page= ... tegory=341
&
http://www.osst.co.uk/Download/mepis/ <--
The above link requires the torrent downloader to open the release folder and they are presented with a list of downloads and an AntiX folder.
http://www.osst.co.uk/Download/mepis/released/?id=5

Mepis 11.0.9 32 & 64 bit version is listed, but not Mepis 11.0.12 are they the same files? Or was this an earlier version not noticed by me, and it appears that both the 32 & 64 bit version of Mepis 11.0.12 needed to be added to this list.

If I add these different torrents to my Deluge, will it add a tracker, or another seed? Have only used one tracker for a seed, not a torrent user other than AntiX/Mepis distros seeder

Maybe i should have started a new thread, instead of adding a question about a different torrent location? My error

The '11.0.09' (SimplyMEPIS-DVD_11.0.09_xx) torrents are for the 'big' (3.8GB) DVD isos shown here: http://mepis.mirrorcatalogs.com/released/old/ (scroll down to near the bottom of the list)

I don't see any torrents for the 'big' DVDs listed at linuxtracker.org.

Btw, there's newer 11.0.12 'big' DVD isos here: http://mepis.mirrorcatalogs.com/released/.

Is it even necessary to have torrents for the 'big' DVD isos ?

I would think torrents are a very important Mepis download system, and would never question splitting the download bandwidth among numerous systems rather than using a smaller number of sites for intensive downloads. I was surprised to trip over the different torrent location and not see the Mepis 11.0.12 listed on "Get Mepis". Tis funny I still upload mepis 11.00 64 occasionally from a closed down tracker (openbittorrent.com) this was rumored to be part of pirates bay and was closed down, but the tracker and search engine have resurfaced several times since it was shut down.

1st place (uploaded Mepis 11.00 64 - 53.2 Gib with openbittorrent.com tracker since May 05/2011).
2nd place (uploaded AntiX-M11-686 - 17.7 Gib on Linuxtracker since May 05/2011)
3rd place (uploaded Mepis 11.00 32 - 17.5 Gib with Linuxtracker tracker since May 05/2011)
4st place (uploaded AntiX-M11-486 - 11.5 Gib with Linuxtracker tracker since May 05/2011).
5th place (uploaded 6.2 Gib for Mepis 11.12 64 with Linuxtracker tracker since Feb 16/2012)
6th place (uploaded 4.8 Gib for Mepis 11.12 32 with Linuxtracker tracker since Feb 16/2012)

Seems Openbittorrent was the place where downloaders apparently went to download mepis 11, as the upload volume was far greater than Linuxtracker. It is difficult to measure because Openbittorrent was shut down and has resurfaced several times, but also Linuxtracker appears it was also not active or the links did not work when the thread was created.

Why I added the Openbittorrent tracker for Mepis 11 64 bit, it is what I found when I searched the internet for a torrent to download and seed back then. I wish I had more results from other systems that were retired that were on-line for a longer period of time, but this is one of the many different computers I have used to seed Mepis and AntiX via torrents. I am certain there are others in this community that will smile at the small number of Gib I have uploaded with this system. But this machine has spent many hours running, and is about to retire, as the hard drives are not silent. Boot drive is making noticeable clicking noise, and I feel it is going to need a replacement soon.

I would hope we keep all torrents up and available for downloads... With my limited experience the popular torrent search engines would be a worthwhile place to announce mepis and AntiX if the Openbittorrent is any guide to what can happen if it is searchable and available for download on well used torrent search engines...

I am keeping me fingers crossed that it will last until first week of January. I am rebuilding an electric sipping 64 bit replacement, and looking for another system (UEFI) as a test bed for the forthcoming Alpha 3. I have been constantly backing up files, but the set-up on this system is sweet, I keep it running for several weeks at a time.

I have been using the Alpha 2, since released. I had the Laptop and the Quad both fail to boot. Doing a second new install and after updating the grub correctly have not had it fail to boot (Thanks Danum). I moved hard drive about late last week, and did another new install of the alpha 2. The alpha 2 is my main system as this one only sits running Deluge serving up Mepis and AntiX. Otherwise accessed for an occasional photo, to create a new wallpaper or post for photo editing advice. Yesterday & today I feel this system has been used for more diverse things, than all last month. I needed to use several old era 2000 WinXP programs running in wine, something I do not have working in the Alpha 2.

Will replace the drive soon, but no sense in replacing it ahead of destruction, since I have other systems sitting in the corner of the room, I can put on-line in the blink of an eye...

Uncle mark thank you for the suggestion, "soon".
