Thanks for posting that. A thought-provoking article (and reminded me to check out jitsi).

I just installed this appimage: https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet-electron/releases (version 1.1.1). It seems to work fine. Perhaps we can chat with each other sometime to further test it out?

says it's good, and apparently no app is needed - it just works through a browser!

Re: Privacy and independence from the evil empire(s)
It's indeed well-designed and works reasonably well within a browser... as long as said browser supports WebRTC. So no fun with Pale Moon but it's fine with Vivaldi (and, I assume, other Cr-based browsers).GuiGuy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 12, 2019 5:05 pmhttps://alternativeto.net/software/jitsi-meet/reviews/

It also allows file and screen sharing from within the browser, not bad at all.
